Terms of Service

1. Cue is in public beta

Cue is early software offered free of charge. Features will change, break and occasionally disappear. Data loss is possible — please do not treat your Cue watchlist as the only record of anything you care about. We will give notice before any deliberate deletion, but we cannot promise the service will be available or intact at any given moment.

2. Using Cue

You may use Cue for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not:

• scrape, bulk-download or resell the catalogue or any part of it;
• use automated tools to make requests at a rate a person could not, or work around the limits described in section 3;
• attempt to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to any part of the service;
• use Cue to break the law, or to harass anyone.

We may suspend or remove an account that does any of this, usually without warning where the behaviour is clearly deliberate.

3. Limits on AI features

The mood search costs real money to run, so there is a daily cap on how many AI-assisted searches one person can make. Reaching it does not lock you out: Cue falls back to its own non-AI matching and keeps working, which most people will not notice.

The number is not fixed and is not published. It is set high enough that ordinary use will not reach it, and we will change it as we learn what ordinary use looks like. If a paid tier is introduced later, the free allowance will be described clearly before it changes.

4. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your password to yourself and for what happens under your account. Tell us at hello@cue.app if you think someone else has access to it.

You can delete your account whenever you like from your account page. Deletion is immediate and permanent — there is no recovery window and we cannot undo it for you.

5. Recommendations are opinions

Cue recommends things to watch and play. It is not advice, and the descriptions and reason lines are generated from catalogue data rather than written by a critic. Age ratings and content warnings come from third-party providers and can be wrong or missing; do not rely on Cue alone to decide whether something is suitable, for children or for anyone else.

6. Content that isn’t ours

Film and television information and artwork come from TMDB. Game information comes from IGDB. Cue uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. All titles, artwork, trademarks and related rights belong to their respective owners and are shown here to identify and describe the works.

Cue does not host, stream or link to pirated material, and does not tell you where to watch anything unlawfully.

7. What we’re responsible for

Cue is provided “as is”. Because it is free and in beta, we do not accept liability for loss arising from using it — including lost data, or an evening spent on something you did not enjoy.

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under UK law. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

8. Ending it

You can stop using Cue and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access if these terms are broken, or if we stop running the service — in which case we will give reasonable notice and a way to export your data.

9. Changes

These terms will change as Cue does. Material changes are announced in the product before they take effect, and the date at the top of this page changes with them. Continuing to use Cue after that means you accept the new version.

10. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK, you may bring proceedings in your own jurisdiction.
